Believe it or not, set up will only take about two minutes! The instructions clearly direct the user to install the device drivers before plugging in the dock into the laptop. The setup utility gives you the option to install the Ethernet, Audio and Video drivers.
I love the upright slim design of the docking station because it allows me to save desktop space. I’m really not a big fan of bulky pieces on my table. The built-in HD Digital Video card that you can connect to a HD quality monitor lets you view up to 3 displays simultaneously. That’s pretty amazing, right? Another great thing I love about the Toshiba Dynadock U Universal USB Connect Laptop Docking Station is the “Undock” button which enables the user to eject the whole dock. You don’t have to take care of the plugged in devices one by one. You will not get this from other docking stations for laptops.
With the Toshiba Dynadock U Universal USB Connect Laptop Docking Station, you can view DVDs in full screen. Video calling in Skype is not a problem either. The drivers being used for graphics and videos are from DisplayLink. They provide good customer support and they work to resolve any issues that the user may have. You can always quickly download the latest drivers directly from their website. I’ve never had any issues regarding this.
CONS of this laptop docking station:
A lot of people are complaining about the poor video quality of the Toshiba Dynadock U Universal USB Connect Laptop Docking Station. Although I’ve never had any problems with the quality of the videos, I think that downloading an update will fix the problem. Also, you need to have the dock unplugged when you start your computer and take it out after you shut down otherwise, your computer will freeze on startup. I’m not sure if other people have experienced this problem but as long as you follow the suggestion I mentioned above, you’re good to go.
